Does it hurt?

This is probably one of the most common questions people ask.  The short answer is NO. 
Most people are pleasantly surprised and relieved to learn that acupuncture needles are extremely thin and completely unlike the hypodermic needles that they have experienced at their doctor's office.  
Acupuncturists can attain a high level of skill in gently placing these tiny needles and often the insertion is barely perceptible. It is very rare that a patient describes this sensation as "painful”.

What should I expect?

Expect to enjoy it! Most people really enjoy the experience of an acupuncture treatment. Treatment produces a profound level of relaxation in most people and many patients enjoy a restful nap. Afterwards, most people report a calm feeling of vitality and an improved sense of well being. 

Are the needles safe?

Absolutely!  Only sterile, single-use disposable needles are used.

Does my insurance cover acupuncture?

The answer is maybe.  There are many insurance companies that do cover acupuncture today.  The reality is... it depends on your insurance.  We will do a complimentary benefits check for you to see if you have acupuncture benefits. 

We also have various payment options available to make it affordable for everyone who wants and needs care.

How frequently do I need to come for treatment?

The frequency of treatments varies with each individual. This would be determined based on your health condition, medical history, and treatment goals.  Once this is determined, we will sit down with you to discuss a specific plan for you.

Do I have to be sick to benefit from acupuncture?

Absolutely not! In recent years more and more people have discovered that it is much easier, safer and cost effective to maintain health than it is to recover it once it's lost. Acupuncture has the ability to strengthen immune function, reduce stress, and nourish proper functioning in the body which is an important addition to any health program.
